A Guide to the Dreamiest Wedding Venues in Indiana

Planning a wedding in Indiana can be a little overwhelming. Indiana has such a wide variety of venues, from modern industrial buildings to fairytale-like gardens in the hills of Brown County. Lucky for you, I’ve put together a list of some of the top venues in the state!

Mustard Seed Gardens

Noblesville, Indiana | Central Indiana | 40 Mins from Downtown Indianapolis

Mustard Seed Gardens, especially in the fall, is a beautiful destination for a wedding. The getting ready house (yes, house!) is spacious and beautifully designed for relaxing on the morning of your wedding day. The outdoor spaces, for both a ceremony and cocktail hour, are COVID friendly and let your guests really take in the surrounding nature! Can’t wait to get back here for more weddings in the future.

Here’s Sam & Tim’s wedding I photographed at Mustard Seed Gardens during the fall.

Tinker House

Indianapolis, Indiana | Central Indiana | 10 Mins from Downtown Indianapolis

For a hip, eclectic vibe, look no further than Tinker House. It’s an industrial venue just outside of downtown Indianapolis, and has the perfect bones for you to tailor the space to your wedding day. Bonus points because it’s right above Provider – nothing like a late night coffee bar, right?!

Check out Aubree & Nick’s wedding at Tinker House, which was also featured on The Knot!

The Wilds Wedding & Event Venue

Brown County, Indiana | South Central Indiana | 1 Hour 15 Mins from Downtown Indianapolis

It’s no secret The Wilds is one of my favorite venues in Indiana. The property alone is out of this world – thoughtfully placed right in the middle of Brown County’s rolling hills. The owners have meticulously created a venue + experience that is out of this world, and the venue itself is turnkey. You can leave it to speak for itself on your wedding day, or with the right Wedding Planner & Designer, it can be transformed to completely fit the vibe of your day. Excited to be back here a few more times in 2021!

Here’s a wedding I photographed at The Wilds last Summer. If you’re planning your wedding there, let’s talk!

Regions Tower

Indianapolis, Indiana | Central Indiana | 5 Mins from Downtown Indianapolis

If you’re looking for a modern, city vibe, Regions Tower is your place. It’s right in downtown Indianapolis, within walking distance from most central hotels. It’s the perfect destination for a black tie affair, but can be dressed up or down to fit the theme of your wedding day. And let’s not forget the massive outdoor patio with city views – it’s absolutely dreaaaamy.

Take a look at Heather & Bryan’s summer wedding at Regions Tower to get a better look at the space!

Columbia Club

Indianapolis, Indiana | Central Indiana | 0 Mins from Downtown Indianapolis

I had the pleasure of shooting at Columbia Club last winter, and even though I love a good outdoor venue, I truly loved Columbia Club. It’s such a different vibe – a little on the darker, moodier end, but still very much a higher end venue. If you’re looking for a cozy spot for your winter wedding, or a venue for the NYE party of the century, you’ve found it. And did I mention it’s right on Monument Circle?!

Iron & Ember

Carmel, Indiana | Central Indiana | 30 Mins from Downtown Indianapolis

A sister venue of Mustard Seed Gardens, Iron & Ember is the perfect destination for a light & airy wedding day. I had the pleasure of shooting an event there during the winter, and the team at Iron & Ember really brought the space to life. I can only imagine a summer or fall wedding there would be just as magical!

The Loft at Walnut Hill

Bloomington, Indiana | South Central Indiana | 1 Hour 30 Mins from Downtown Indianapolis

What I love most about The Loft at Walnut Hill is their reception space, a beautiful covered open air patio, surrounded by farmland. It’s such a beautiful contrast to the building itself. It 100% feels like you’re being transported to the English Countryside!

I’ve photographed all types of weddings at Walnut Hill, from a range of budgets, and it continues to shine every single time. It’s not far from Bloomington either, which is the perfect spot for guests to stay and enjoy local breweries and activities!

Here’s Georgia & Anthony’s summer wedding that was also featured on 100 Layer Cake.

Story Inn

Story, Indiana | South Central Indiana | 1 Hour 15 Mins from Downtown Indianapolis

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing weddings at Story Inn over the years, and it really is one of the most unique venues in southern Indiana. Each suite on the property has vintage touches, perfect for a more eclectic + boho wedding. They offer both indoor and outdoor options for the ceremony and reception, ranging in style. Need I say more?

Bonus – Story Inn is also just minutes from Nashville, Indiana. It’s the perfect destination for your out of town guests who want to make a mini-vacation out of the trip!

1899 Venue

Indianapolis, Indiana | Central Indiana | 9 Mins from Downtown Indianapolis

An Art Deco dream, 1899 is hands down one of the coolest venues in Indianapolis. I’ve only had the pleasure of photographing a wedding there once, but I’m counting down the days til I get to go back. It’s perfect for weddings of all sizes, with plenty of outdoor mingling spots to keep it COVID friendly!

Laurel Hall

Indianapolis, Indiana | Central Indiana | 20 Mins from Downtown Indianapolis

A unique and timeless venue that could suit so many different styles of weddings. Laurel Hall is like something out of a movie – and very fitting for the whimsical and romantic bride. A true stunner of a venue.

And here are a few bonus venues that I haven’t had the chance to work at yet, but would love to!

Daniel’s Vineyard | The Bluffs at Conner Prairie | Newfields | Hotel Carmichael | Artisan Acres Estate
